In following a previous CgE News post, Monday September 19th, 2016 marked the official launch event of the Just Think 1st Anti-Violence video PSA campaign, in which Callowgrove Entertainment headed the creation of one of a series of five video PSAs.
The launch event held in Scarborough (Toronto’s east end borough for those less familiar with the layout of the “6ix”) successfully drew out a large crowd of community leaders, artists, parents, youth and kids, which featured inspiring rap performances, poetry, krumpin’ and a Q&A with all 5 PSA directors, including yours truly. Toronto Chief of Police, Mark Saunders was also in attendance.
The night, hosted by Just Think 1st creators Farley Flex and Roderick Brereton, received media and news coverage from major Toronto media outlets.

I’m excited to announce that all five PSAs including CgE’s Always Another Option are now available for viewing online.
Gun violence and violence as a whole, has become a rapidly increasing problem in Toronto over the years with reported incidences hitting record highs in 2016.
With these PSAs we aim to show and plant the seeds in the minds of offenders and/or potential offends to literally just think first. Take a moment to think of the consequences of violence. Take a moment to think of who is being hurt, not just the victims but also those around who are directly or indirectly impacted by the result and consequences of violence. We also aim to continue and further the conversations of conflict resolution without violence.
